Doorway to Artistry offers a playful, everyday philosophical approach necessary for life, integration, healing and thriving in artistry. Doorway reflects on the real and how we are involved with it, especially in our creative effort. Knowing as Loving: Philosophical Grounding for Charlotte Mason’s Expert Educational Insights (Charlotte Mason Centenary Series)

We come together to propose and demonstrate that covenant epistemology accords fundamentally with Mason’s innovative and effective theory for educating children, thus giving expression to the philosophical grounding of her approach.
Picture
Thoughtful philosophical grounding for educator Mason’s expert insights.
Charlotte Maria Shaw Mason’s theses enact an alternative philosophical vision which correctly diagnoses and healingly subverts modernity’s skewed and damaging claims. We propose and show that philosopher Esther Lightcap Meek’s “covenant epistemology” accords profoundly with Charlotte Mason’s innovative and effective vision for educating children, giving expression to the philosophical grounding of her approach. This alignment serves to confirm Mason’s insights and expand our grasp of how to implement them.

Coauthored with Mason expert Lisa Cadora, this monograph is one of the Charlotte Mason Centenary Series, Deani Van Pelt, Series editor, produced in honor of the 2023 Mason Centenary, by the Charlotte Mason Institute.

“With directness and a beguiling simplicity, Esther Meek takes the reader into the heart of the postmodern malaise regarding truth and knowledge not to linger there, but to emerge with a delightfully assured sense that knowing God is part of a real and unfolding relationship. A tour de force.”  — David F. Wells, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
“In an era of ‘post-truth’ and ‘alternative facts,’ this account of how we may discover the real is very welcome indeed.”  — Murray Rae, University of Ontago, New Zealand
“When I read anything Esther Meek writes I find myself with holy envy longing to be a wiser man.”  — Dan B. Allender, The Allender Center, The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology
